Hello Mom And Dad,

 I am writing this letter to you do to the recent events involving Charlie Habdo. First off I am OK. I recently took a train to Cannes with one of my roommates, we took a train over 900 km out of harms way. But one of my roommates who stayed in Paris was just a few km away. He is alright also.

I am not sure how much you have heard but here is a quick recap of what we have heard in France, on Wednesday around 11:30am Gunmen attacked the Charlie Hebdo Office and flee north, later that night a flat was raided and several arrests were made. Also that night an 18 year old subject turned himself in to the police. On Thursday two people were shot in the street and police go house to house to look for the remaining subjects. Early today the terrorists held people hostage in a grocery store in the Jewish quarter, police raided the store retrieving hostages and killing the terrorists.

This was the end of the fighting but not near then end of this event. France is coming together and showing their support for the fallen innocent victims, they claim that these acts of terror only strengthen the support for freedom. All of France along with me is mourning, but is standing taller and stronger than ever. What the Terrorist did not realize is that committing these acts of violence against France in order to weaken the support for freedom does not work. I believe that although Habdo did indeed offend these people, there is no reason for the horrible act they have committed.
